Recently the irrigation pros at Heinen Landscaping and Irrigation began installation of an automatic sprinkler system along a several-block-long public green space area in Mission Hills. Heinen is grateful to be considered an essential business, so with appropriate social distancing and other safeguards in place, Heinen has managed to keep crews working and earning an income through what has been a difficult time in Kansas City
As illustrated by the photos below, members of the Heinen team are working at least 6 feet apart and wearing protective face masks as Heinen strives to maintain the safest work environment for our crews and customers alike.

One of the experts at Heinen laying an irrigation mainline in Mission Hills.
For the green space project, a large diameter spine of PVC was initially laid as the central water feed system for irrigation system. Heinen uses only high-quality, durable tubing on sprinkler projects assuring the system will have longevity and easy to maintain. Once the lateral sprinkler pipe is laid Heinen will add a water saving control system to manage water usage and state of the art sprinkler heads that cover each zone of the project with just the right amount of water – while skipping waterings if there has been recent rainfall or near-term rainfall predicted by the National Weather Forecast center.
The photos below illustrate the beginning of a work-in-progress project, so be sure to check back here for the after photos to see the completed install in operation. In the meantime, you can view more Heinen projects on our Instagram page.
